Michael Alan MacKay, M.D.
Michael A. MacKay, M.D. came to East Tennessee from Royal Oak, Michigan in 1997. A native of the Detroit area, he obtained his Bachelor of Science and Medical degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He was a Magna Cum Laude graduate in the top 5% in his medical school class. Dr. MacKay then completed his internship in general surgery and his residency in orthopedic surgery at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. He was board certified in 1999 by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
Dr. MacKay has published articles in major orthopedic journals and has become a valuable asset to the Orthopedic Surgeons of Oak Ridge and OrthoTennessee.
Dr. MacKay resides in Oak Ridge along with his wife and children. His hobbies include golf, tennis, and hiking. He has been active in youth sports as a coach to his son and also as team physician for the Anderson County Mavericks since 1997.
